A regular inventory of road surface defects creates a basis for a systematic assessment of the condition of the road network. The data collected during the inventory make it possible to specify where and what type of repair work is appropriate to apply to the road surface.
For defect inventory, we use the EyeVi mapping technology developed for this work, where pavement defects are detected from ortho and panoramic images. Road surface defects are marked on the orthoimage, their volumes are calculated using software, and as a result, the inventoried defects are obtained as a spatial data layer and also in the form of a table.
